Default Child Care in Discovery Bay

Hi there,

We are moving to HK next year, looking to live in Discovery Bay and just wondering if anyone knows of day care options for a two year old? There isn't too much online, but I am sure there must be some options there!

Thanks for any replies!

In a place where a full time, live-in six days a week nanny costs about $500 USD (£350) a month and the cost to rent property for a day care facility is huge, the market for day care is somewhat limited. Most folks simply hire a domestic helper.

I think there may be a few but don't know any off the top of my head. I would search the forums at geoexpat.com. They even have a sub forum for Disco Bay.

Agreed. If you have room for one a full time helper is the way to go or alternatively a full time "live-out" helper.
Why Discovery Bay ? You have lived there b4 ?

Thanks for the replies guys! I was thinking about the domestic helper route too, and it is definitely something we will consider, I guess we were just looking for something a little more structured.

I lived in Mid Levels for several years previously, which was great, but I just feel that with a young family the quality of life offered on DB in terms of it being a little quieter, no cars, beach on your doorstep is a little more family friendly than the island. That being said the commute is going to be rough!

Thanks again!
