Question Budgeting for living in China

Hello

I'm a huge fan of budgets and am trying to organise one for when I come to China - just waiting on a visa at the moment. I've previously done 12 months in South Korea and found that the costs mounted very easily.

I've emailed two of the current teachers asking questions regarding daily costs etc, but wondered if anyone else can offer any further ideas on alternatives to things such as Netflix / Spotify as they're quite costly.

Also any tips on Health insurance? I will be working for a private university and I believe some of the costs are covered.

And finally free VPN's / email accounts?

Thank you!

Hi, your probably in China now, if your plans worked out.
I was also living in Geoje, South Korea for about a year.
I found it to be a ridiculous expensive place.
Couldn't wait to get back to China.
When I was doing grocery shopping in Geoje, I found it was always more expensive, than the expensive shops in UK.
