Default Wanting to move Mexico City with teenagers?

I have two children aged 16 and 17,both speak fluent Spanish and English and we live in the Yucatan.

I am an English teacher and I speak fluent Spanish too.

We really like the D.F, the climate and the people but as a single mum I have some reservations, mostly safety issues.

We live in the Yucatan and have done for many years but its too hot and each year its getting hotter, there are no jobs here and what jobs there are, pay terribly low even by Mexican standards. Its very oppressive here due to the heat and you tend to lack energy for most of the year.
However its very very safe here for kids.

Are there any other Brits living in Mexico City with teens?
How is their social life? and do they have one?
Are there any private schools that have sensible fees instead of 13000 mxn pesos a month?

I would really love some advice and info from anybody out there.
Thanks in advance
