I have been offered a job in Mexico City starting in the summer. The salary is lower than my salary in Europe but they tell me living costs are lower. I will receive 60,000 pesos a month plus and additional 20,000 each month for housing.
Would that give a reasonable standard of living? Thanks

you'd be on, in total 4400 Euros, but I can't say, as it also depends on where in La Ciudad you end up staying

80,000 pesos is enough to live like a king! Average salary to make an ok living (and what my parents earn!) is in between 12-18k

I have a house in Merida Yucatan and live here part of the year.I think with 80,000 pesos a month you will have no problem .My mexican gf(who is from Mexico City) tells me the mininum wage is 67 pesos per hour ,so 2680 pesos for 40hrs.A beer from supermarket is around 10 pesos,20 or 25 in a bar.Petrol is 12 pesos a litre. My gf says the cost of housing in Mexico City depends on where you are going to be working(south of the city is the best) ,so a apartment 2 bedrooms will be between 5000 and 20,000 pesos,heres a good website.

Roma is a decent colonia in Mexico City,hope this helps
