Hmmm...a tricky question.

Matomoros is Ground Zero for the battle between Los Zetas and the Cartel del Golfo and there is always a danger that the innocent can get caught up in the crossfire. But saying that, such things are still, generally, not common.

Like any other large city, there are places where you shouldn't go after dark. Nor should you advertise your relative wealth or make yourself an attractive target for casual opportunist thieves.

Oh, this is very useful information, it is better to plan Tijuana and Los Algodones, because I'm planning on dental tourism, Tijuana has more tourist spot, but Los Algodones has more better dentist. Does anyone else have tips for dental tourism?

Lots of dentists in Nuevo Progresso, Tams. - the main street from the border crossing bridge to the highway is lined with them. Additionally, you can leave your car on the US side and walk across (as many do).

Here is some information on Los Algodones, a very popular dental destination, just across the Arizona border.
