Residence documents - Renewing passport (from Brazil)
Hey there! I'm renewing my British passport but I don't think I have some documents they ask (to prove residency). I have maaaaany doubts! Please help It states in the HM Passport Office's document:
"Send us the documents listed. We only accept original versions or replacement documents. Unless stated no photocopies or laminated documents should be sent. Documents that aren’t in English – including documents showing an address - must be fully translated by a professional translator."
The documents they ask are:
"Identity, name and address and/or residency evidence:
All applicants must provide from the list below:
• one document showing photo identity; and
• one document as evidence of name and address and/or residency dated within the last year.
(...) Name and address and/or residency evidence
Please provide one of the following:
• Visa or residence permit (or colour photocopy)
• Tax record eg a letter from the tax authority
• Education record eg school report
• Employment record eg official letter from your employer
• Letter sent to you from a central, regional or local government department
• Baptismal or naming ceritificate
• Medical / health card
• Voter's card
• Parents' death certificates if applicable
• Immigration documents"
My questions are:
1) Does this document has to have my name on it and the date? I just have documents I need with no date (voter's card) or official letters with my mother's name, none in my name. If yes - no ideia of what I can do!
2) Should it be original?
3) How do I prove the translation is professional? Are there a number of translators accepted by the embassy, something like that?
Has anyone renewed their passport recently and can help? Thank you in advance!!

Do you have a Brazilian residence permit in your current British passport?

Could you not get a certified letter from your mother stating you live with her ,plus an original utility bill etc addressed to her? When my son renewed his UK passport from here, he had similar problem so he got letter from his brother with whom he lives, got it notarised and sent original electricity bill in brothers name which confirmed address. New passport back in 2 weeks! We did the same for our residents visa here as no bills are in our name.
