Finding work - how easy is it?

Hi,

Can anyone share their thoughts/experience on how easy it is for an English only speaking, British foreigner to find work in Mexico (I would learn the local language once committed)?

Can you recommend where's best to search for employment opportunities, i.e. job sites, employment agencies, etc.?

What is the employment culture like and how does that differ to the UK?

Thanks in advance!

Twenty years ago my son (then aged 23) hitch-hiked from Brownsville down to Vera Cruz and to Mexico City, doing odd-jobs for families in exchange for a bed and some food for the road. In Mexico City he landed a job in a repair shop washing car engines for a dollar an hour. Now that was twenty years ago, and he was a fairly adventurous chap; I don't know if it could be done today, but there's only one way to find out, right? He didn't speak any Spanish at the beginning, and learnt only "street" Latino-Spanish until he got a Mexican girlfriend who taught him how to talk proper. So. Is that any help to you, Mason?
