smuggled gold
I don't really know what's going on in this case, but it seems to be a huge operation. Three weeks ago Cayman Customs was reported as finding gold bars flown in from Venezuela, now this report of British Customs finding scads more of the stuff. Yikes! All very suspicious.

Thats 280 lbs of gold, - a suitcase approx. If it is drug money its peanuts, not significant in the overall scheme, therefore it is either a trial run or one of a series of transfers has been found out.
Given the ability to buy transport why would it do so many hops? It could fly anywhere in one hop and unless caymen was the final destination? I would have thought somewhere like hong kong.
Alternatively is it black government money?
