Tax Q. BVI back to UK
 

Hi,

Looking for some advice on Tax please, I know, probably been asked a million times across this platform but I cant seem to find the right answer.

I left UK Jan 19 for the BVI where I work and pay BVI income tax. I have been told the contract will end Dec this year or possibly run over a few weeks into 2020.

My question therefore is if I go back to the UK in Dec or Jan how will this affect me as I will have to seek new employment on return?

If I pay income tax here in the BVI on my salary will I have to pay anything on the salary I have earned when here back to HMRC? I know there is a double taxation treaty but I really don’t understand it, sorry in advance.

I did not inform HMRC I was leaving UK, should I have? Should I do that now?

Any advice is appreciated in advance.
