Taking the plunge
Well I've been here 3 months now and decided that I really like it.
I've just put an offer in on a house and expect that to be completed sometime in October.
I guess I should think about some sort of residency now. I haven't bothered so far as I do a lot of travelling so have been in and out of the country most months.
The last time I came through they had no problem when I said I was here for 50 days holiday, but it is likely that my next visit will be more than 3 months. Hopefully I'll be here for 8/9 months a year.
Does residency take a long time to happen? Is there anything else I need to consider?
It's just me and my partner, no kids involved and neither of us plan to work in the island. I need to sort out a bank account as my UK credit card is taking a battering.
Any advice?
