Wink St. Lucia application for work permit

I need to begin the process for obtaining a work permit in St. Lucia; however, the application has to be initiated in person. They can't mail the form.

Can anyone recommend an immigration specialist or an attorney who can work with me to file the form? Or, even a courier who can simply pick up the form and send it to me?

Thank you in advance for your time and advice.

Hi what are you coming here to do? This may have some bearing on my advice.

I will see if I can help, the process here is as follows.

You visit the labour department and ask for a form, you then travel across to the other side of Castries to the treasury, pay the $100EC fee, you then get a receipt which you take back to the labour department to get the form.

That is the first stage. I will then advise you on the second stage ie filling in the form etc once I know what you will be doing.

I do also have a lawyer that I can recommend (he is sorting out a permit for a friend of mine), whom I will be seeing tomorrow for a meeting so I will gain his details, if not I will help you myself.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi LucyLock, thanks for replying. Rather than put the full explanation on the public board, I just sent you a pm. Thanks!

I am in St Lucia at the moment and am coming back to the UK on Tues next week for a quick break. If you need anything bringing back for you I may be able to help?

IslanderGirl,

Thanks so much for your kind offer; however, I'm in the Midwest USA and it would be quite a detour for you to stop by Missouri on your way back to the UK. (I don't mean to be a smart-a** ... I have a dry sense of humor).

I joined this board because I am unable to locate one that applies to US expatriates. I was merely looking for information on the Caribbean, which is the same no matter where one currently resides.

But, more importantly, I learned from LucyLock that my prospective employer needs to be involved in initiating the process. So, I'm going to have to wait for a while.

Thanks, again for your kind offer! Safe travels back to the UK.
