Hi all,
Just recently found this website and it's a great place to hang out. I moved out to St Lucia from the UK about 2 years ago and absolutely love it over here.

I'm going back to the UK for a couple of weeks in May just for a holiday to see family and friends - just hope it's not going to be tooo cold!!

But I was just interested - Is there anything that you miss from the UK ?

I love it here too!
I miss family and friends still, and am going back in June for a couple of weeks to see people.

I miss pesto, SKY TV, cheap rounds of golf, wearing jumpers, knowing what is going to be on TV more than an hour ahead and getting exactly what you want in the supermarket in one shop. Life is good really!

I agree about the getting what you want in the supermarket in one go...i don't miss wearing jumpers, although saying that I have worn a few over here as I feel cold more (strange, eh!!)

fresh milk (we only get boxed longlife here)
fresh fruit (only comes once a week on the ferry)
marmite
christmas spirit and festivities ... its another day of the year here

other than that ... no!

Hi luckily we are able to get Marmite and fresh milk here in St Lucia.
What I miss is after eight chocolates!!!

Not much else though!

I've noticed that it's only food....all the superficial stuff....

LL - I did see that they had the Elizabeth Shaw mints just before xmas in the shops..close enough...??

If you know someone in UK who has Sky, it is possible to buy a box called, I believe, a Slingbox which takes the Sky signal and "slings" it down the internet, so you can pick it up anywhere in the world. I know a chap who watches Sky in Thailand

Provided you can get the internet, I don't see why not.

Try typing "slingbox" into your search engine, and see what happens.

Don't know where in the world you are at present, but in UK, Maplin Electronics sell the boxes.
