The Danish West Indies

Now property of Uncle Sam. By all accounts things were not so great for the inhabitants prior to 1917.

LOL you think things are better now? Once you get away from the 5* ghettos, the scale of poverty in the USVI is apparent.

I can imagine. makes me wonder about the idea we have of Scandinavia. Strange to think they had slum colonies in the Caribbean and India.

Well, i worked for a massive danish company in London for some years. In an office of 250 people, we had 1 black person, a PA who moved in with her boss. The place was the essence of racism, with a hidden HR process where all managers were simply told no or yes to new prospective employees. It gives the game away to say it was actually called the maersk test.
