Creepy Crawlies

My wife is scared of spiders and has read some review of Tortola talking about cane spiders, scorpians and the like and is now freaking out a little. I've told her that she's getting things out of proportion but to be honest I don't know!

We may have the chance of moving to St Lucia or Tortola, does anyone know the bug situation in either? I realise on a tropical island we'll see all sorts of things we're not used to but my wife is more worried about anything big - say that you wouldn't want to try and catch under a glass! We have little kids too so I have my own concerns.

Hello, I live on St Lucia and have seen less spiders here than in the UK! there are bugs obviously but nothing is life threatening, and I haven't seen anything that won't fit under a glass.
