Can you apply for a British Citizenship...?

My grandma was born in 1944 in Jamaica and at that time Jamaica was considered a British Colony. By 1962, Jamaica had gained independence, but everyone born before 1962 was an "British Subject." Since she was born before 1962 and is an English subject could she apply for a British Passport today without living in the country? (Her father was born in Scotland)

Should be able to sort something out with a Scottish parent at least?

Probably need as much documentation as you can find.

If you're really keen then google it and read the sites carefully.
