Yup it's has got a milder winter compared to other provinces..it's been a real mild winter this year, often you don't see the grass until March but this year we have had spring weather several times before a huge snow storm and one day you feel wow it's spring, then wow back to winter moments, but it's sure not as cold as AB, SK, or MB.

Mild? Really? This is my third winter here and by far the coldest! -18/19 when walking the dogs is a tad chilly by anybodies standards! But the sun is shining right now and that's good enough for me!

Totally.. We have had patches of springtime when the snow has melted.. The first year I came here snow was 6 ft from November - March and -25.

I've seen photos...yuck! I think that if that weather comes back I'll be swapping the dogs for a pair of goldfish!

Congratulations on your first year in NS! We're approaching our one year canniversary in NS as well and have a similarly positive experience

On our first recce trip here we stayed in a cottage at Fox Point, near Hubbards. It really is lovely down there, I still think of the scenery there when I think of my ideal house location (though where we are in the Valley is a little different!).

I hope things keep going well for you!
