One year on...yesterday
 

God it only seems a few months ago we (me and the wifey)were ready to land at Halifax airport.....but due to fog were diverted to Toronto (good start).
We spent the first six weeks in Halifax getting all our paperwork sorted, house hunting, driving test etc.The first few weeks were hectic, but looking back now, really enjoyable.
Found a house, then we both found jobs fairly quickly which was a relief.
My wife recently started a new job which she loves, and i just started a small business which I'm much happier doing.
When we arrived we didn't have any high expectations, in fact quite the opposite.....we expected everything to go wrong....talk about glass half empty:blink: so when you are faced with challenges, you're ready to tackle them, and when things go smooth.......have a beer or two:thumbsup:

In NS, things are done at a much slower pace, which takes time to get used to.......but now i think that's probably one of the things that appealed to us, ( it's certainly not the b-----d blackflies):eek: which have taken a liking to me.

Would we do it all again? Without a doubt:)Our savings have taken a pounding, miss friends and family, and also miss Scotland like crazy at times as well, but even after just a year, we both feel rather settled.
