Canniversary Number 1!!
Well our first Canniversary was last Monday and what can I say - what a year!
The boys 16 and 13 have settled unbelievable well. Our eldest spent March break at a friends cottage, has his G1 and is going for his G2 in August, his school team won the Central Western Ontario Secondary School AAA Championships at Soccer, he went to the Provincials to represent his school, he is playing rep soccer for the city, has coached a U14s team, he helps run the intermurals program at school, has his Canadian ref licence, can now skate, snowboard and loves school (which is definately something new)! Our youngest is about to graduate from grade 8, has been to camp, can skate, snowboard, plays in his school team at soccer, spends all his time outdoors with his friends - everyday I get a text saying he's going out somewhere! He can't wait to get up to High School after the summer. The Canadian girls are loving their accents and a kilt to the semi formal was a massive hit! lol
My husband is enjoying his job and I recently took the plunge and went back to work. Started off temping at a local University but already doors to other opportunities have been opened so looking forward to moving into a more permanent role soon!
I was so lucky to come across this website where I met Lynsey Smith another expat. We moved over within a week of each other and it has been great to be there for each other over the past year! We have a great group of friends, expats and Canadians and are totally settled here.
There have been a couple of wobbles over the year - when my mum had surgery and when people have passed away in the UK - when I could have happily packed up and gone back! That said I can't believe how settled we all are and although we still miss family & friends (we have 10 1/2 weeks of visitors over the summer so we won't be missing them for a while!!) we are so happy and proud to call Canada home!

Congratulations and happy 1st Canniversary
I must say, that your post and kids ages was very much like ours when we came here 3 years ago and it's been all good for us too.
Here's to many more happy years
