Another 1 year Canniversary thread (sorry!)
Well, its our turn for the one year Canniversary (well it was yesterday but we have been away for the week). Celebrated with afternoon tea at the Banff Springs Hotel...yum.
Anyway, I think this is the bit where I have to sum up what have been the highs and lows of our first year here but I am too tired to type it all now (into day 9 with the in-laws ) although we both love it here so far, we don't feel any particular draw back to the UK, and yes - we do miss our family and friends although the webcam is a lifesaver in this regard.
We just can't believe how quickly this first year has gone and we are also still in shock that both sets of parents have visited when we had resigned ourselves that they were never going to visit (both sets had not been on a plane in over 40 years). The only real downside so far is having to use up our work vacation allowance to show the visitors round (and we are fed up with visiting bloomin' Heritage Park).
So, here's to the next Canniversary!

Don't be sorry about posting how things are going!
Its nice to know that you still feel good enough about living here to do that - thats something in itself.
