almost 8 years

We are fast approaching the 8th anniversary of our arrival in this vast land and so it is time for a review of the rollercoaster ride that has been our immigration journey to fulfill our dream.

We arrived on a sunny August day in 2006, I forget which one exactly but it was around the 15th. The cat was happy with the plane ride and the airport but wasn't keen on the car journey to Peterborough. She showed her displeasure by pooping in her crate. It was smelly and I was stuck in the back with her while the grown ups had the front seats and the air vents.

Our move here was of course to give the cat a better life and in that respect it has been a success. She's getting on a bit now but still enjoys murdering chipmunks and other assorted wild life.

It's been hard to support her in the life style she prefers, what with full time jobs being so elusive but we get by and she has no complaints. She does like having staff at home during the day to let her in and out of the house and to feed her on demand. We got a couple of Canadian cats to keep her company but she's not impressed and regularly hits them or hisses as she walks by. It's inspiring to see them cower at just a glance from her. We can all learn from this.

And so I conclude my review with the thought that it ain't perfect but it's home.

Congrats Bats, I suppose your last line sums it up it's not perfect but it's home, no where is perfect but if you consider it home then that surely is a good thing :)
