7 yrs

I moved here Apr 12th '07' to Lethbridge as a trucker and got married Nov 15th '07'.
I spent 3yrs living in my truck alone and taking 2 or 3 long holidays a year visiting my wife until we received our PR in Apr'10', after almost 2 1/2 years and a lot of hassle with the paperwork and translations of everything in both languages.
I booked the next flight available to Thailand and went out and fetched her back.
She landed on May 10th and the Immigration gentleman she had was fantastic and made it very easy for her to understand the process and she sailed through it.
I still didn't have anywhere for us to stay so she came with me in the truck.
I enquired about a visa for her to travel in & out of the US but they told me it could take up to 9mths.
I gave up on that idea and asked my company to keep me long haul in Canada only, so they agreed and gave me a scheduled run from Calgary to Montreal to Toronto to Calgary.
We did this for 4mths but I could see it was getting mind-numbingly boring
for her and, as it happens that week, I found out my company had a job going in a yard in High River.
So I jumped at that, we rented a basement, she got a job after doing some voluntary work in HR Sally Army and we've been here for nearly 4yrs now.

Congratulations! Wow, you really have worked hard for this. I hope you are both happy here and good luck for the future. If only CIC could see how hard people work and what they endure in the process. We're made of strong stuff!

Thanks for replies, it was all worth it, the wife likes it here more than I do and if the lady is happy then generally the man is.:)
