Default 53 years ago today

We boarded a Boeing 707 at Prestwick Airport. It was the aircraft’s maiden voyage, so brand new. We flew to Toronto and landed there in the afternoon. We’ve been back and forth to the UK many times over the intervening years to visit and attend family funerals, just like many people.
Life has been good to us here. I had a job to come to and Mrs.P started a job 3 days after landing. 1966 was probably one of the best summers we’ve encountered in all our years here. Very warm(hot) and sunny weather right through until September. We’ve never regretted our decision to come to Canada. It has been very good to us through thick and thin. We’ve had our ups and downs over the years, but managed to work through them and are quite happily retired now. Made many friends over the years who we now have the time to enjoy fully.

Wow....a brand new Boeing 707!! you really are dating yourself now! lol Sounds as though you have slipped into Canadian life like a hand into a glove right from the start....I think both of you being employed from the begining was a huge factor in your success here. Good for you!

You sound like a 'photographic negative' of me! I left Canada around then in a Sabena 707 from Toronto to London (brought over by my parents) and lived in the UK until returning to Canada for good in November 2017. Oddly to some perhaps, always felt 'Canadian' and always wanted to come back!
