4 years on
we have passed the 4 year mark and about to embark on citizenship. in september we took our first trip back to the uk , both sons 22 and 19 stayed here due to work, but they have no interest to return or revisit . we went for two reasons to celebrate a family occassion and to make sure our 44 years in the uk was not going to outweigh our 4 years here.
it was an eye opener , we love england , but there was nothing there for us , yes it has been a struggle and we miss family but we enjoy our life here , and i can truely say we would not go back , the trip was worth it just to settle our minds once and for all.
we are now ready to move on again , we are going to move to a new house if all goes well same area as the boys have a great network of friends. this was waiting a decision on wether we stay or not.
we believe we have made it , it has been tough and we found it a terrible struggle finacially to start but things are good.
love you england but we are here to stay

Congratulations. I know it's tough at first but Ontario was very good to our family. We lived and worked there for thirty years. Raised two girls who are now married and have provided us with five granddaughters. We retired to Nova Scotia eight years ago and love it here.
