365 days ... just flew by!
As we sit on our sun soaked deck in NW Calgary it is hard to imagine where the last year has gone to. Like many before us there have been many highs and the low for us was finding jobs We were fortunate to be able to stay with family until our house was built, even better now that we have our own possessions - quite emotional cracking the locks on the container!
We have enjoyed the great outdoors: hiking, camping, snow shoeing and cross country skiing. We have learnt new skills too -> fly fishing and kayaking. The photographs we send to family and friends have been welcomed and enjoyed, so much so that we have to juggle who comes when next year!
Still coming to terms with Calgarian driving habits, lack of good ale, bacon and cheddar cheese.

Hi bzriddell
So pleased you have survived the 1st year and are enjoying Canada. We arrived last Sunday (no jobs) and for us that is the worry. I was just saying to a friend tonight, I wish that I could see into the future and know that in 12months time, we will have jobs, a car and a home to live in. I know we have not been here a week yet (already applied for 4 jobs), but it will be nice not to have to live on hard earned savings and have a daily routine (go to work, come home etc).
Anyway, enjoy the next year and go from strength to strength.
