2191 days ...
Or 6yrs today. We're still in Nanaimo, OH finally has a job here so no more driving to Victoria every day (which he's done for the past 3 1/2yrs) it's saving us a fortune in gas ... he's just completing some exams & then has the chore of a 2 day practicum in Clearwater, Florida. He deserves it though, he spent 4-5hrs PER DAY traveling to & from work & now has lots of extra time at home :eek:
My job with the school district is a total c**k-up at the mo, lots of us are out of work as special needs kids lose their designations & get re-designated at 7.3hrs per week instead of 12-25hrs :frown: My kids are now 22 & 19, the older one can't wait to leave Canada & get to Europe, she finishes her degrees next year & I'm secretly hoping she'll change her mind ~ who knows? The younger one loves it here & never wants to leave (today, anyway) he camps, socialises, plays tons of sports, drives & is very much the typical Canadian kid. Looking back, 16 was a really hard age for her to settle in, it was right at the end of grade 11 & friendships were already made, 13 was the start of high school so the transition was much easier for him :fingerscrossed: I'm feeling pretty peed orf with it all at the mo but am hoping that once I get regular work I'll feel more settled  |

Congratulations I didn't realise you were that old in Canada :)

Re: 2191 days ...
congrats from me too - people always misjudge just how important a happy work life is when immigrating.

Re: 2191 days ...
Ditto from me - well done on 6 years and I hope things sort themselves out soon (work-wise). Otherwise, you'll have too much time on your hand for medicinal boosts ;)
That's great for hubby too - what does he do with all that extra time each day? :sneaky: |
