well we have had a whirlwind 1st yr :thumbup:... landed and moved to st catharines came without jobs .. took hubby 3 months to get a job ... which was in guelph ...moved to cambridge in november ... love it here , have bought our house , currently trying to sell the house in uk ,
all in all a great year , we have had some hard times , a bit of homesickness (mostly caused because i hated living in a house that was crap, lmao ) thats sorted now we have a nice modern house in cambridge :thumbsup:
currently skint :rofl: hopefully we will afford a holiday soon , kids totally love living here , survived our first winter and enjoyed it too
looking forward to our 2nd summer which will hopefully be even better than last yr
to all who are gonna try it ... i would say do so !! it willb e hard and you mgiht not make it but at least you had a go x

with my best wishes for your next year, i have a family of 3 kids and my wife, we are waiting for the Visa , but we are scare if will be able to get a good job,

thanks guys .. i dont come on here as much now so seemed to have lost track of the peeps with same timelines as us , lol i do hope most of em got through and are enjoying it over here ..
yep its not a perfect place and when you are in the process you think it will be perfect etc.. its not :rofl:. but it is a lovely place to live and bring up kids and i am really happy it is working for us x

Yep, we were one of the similar time lines to you. Our first Canniversary is coming up.
It has been a horrendous year for us financially, fortunately I am a full time grad student so we have had my bursaries & scholarships but OH has struggled to find a job...finally getting a job this week and staring work today!!!!
All of us love it here though, everything has gone extremely well with settling in, it has just been such a struggle financially.
Will post more about our experiences when we get to July 12th - our actual one year date!

i feel for you , its hard when you know in the uk they could get a job easily but here they cant even get one at home depot !!!
but i thinkif you keep plodding on it works out in the end ,... maybe its a test ?? , lmao
am glad you have managed to get through the year , i know if my hubby hadnt found a job by month 6 we would have been outta money so would have had to go home , i just thank god it worked out for us !! :D
