Office Manager/Executive PA - Construction Industry

I am hoping I could pester you for any advice, tips, hints, links, agency contact details and wisdom :regular_smile: ...

I have over 13 years experience in the construction industry and I am looking for an Office Manager/PA/HR position in or around Hamilton/Toronto ON. My goal is to find long term/permanent work. Something that will help me eventually gain PR/Citizenship.

In March 2015 I activated my 1 year IEC Visa. I have wondered if getting myself on a course or program where I can gain a degree or diploma relating to the field would give me a better chance (?) I looked at the Mohawk website and there are many courses open to international students. Has anyone gone down this route?

I am happy to send my resume to anyone who is in the construction industry that may know of an opening.

It's definitely worth looking at posts by our lovely mod Siouxie. She's also in the Hamilton area, is a Canadian citizen with years of Canadian experience, but it took her a loooooong time to find a job in a similar field (over 200 job applications iirc).

Basically, it won't be easy if she's anything to go by! But hopefully you can pick up some tips from her posts, best of luck.
