Montreal Work Opportunity in Linguistics/Lexicography
Are you interested in English linguistics and living in Montreal, Canada?
Druide Informatique is a Montreal-based linguistics software company. Its French language correction program Antidote is used by over 400,000 people around the world.
Druide is looking for full-time temporary workers in English lexicography and linguistics (if you are studying at a university in Montreal, we may be able to arrange it as an internship). Your duties would include writing definitions of English words and idioms, finding and choosing synonyms, antonyms, hyponyms and hyperonyms of English words, transcribing English words in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), and related tasks. Your skills and qualifications should include a superior command of standard British English grammar, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation. A BA (university degree) or Master’s degree in English, linguistics, translation, or another relevant area (or progress toward such a degree) is a valuable asset for this job, as is knowledge of phonetics and IPA transcription. The contract will last several months, with the possibility of extension. You will be expected to work 40 hours a week, on a slightly flexible schedule. Please write to us for more details.
Please send a CV and cover letter, in French and English, to [email protected] as soon as possible.
