Re: Zoom Airlines go into administration
Just had a look on expedia, there are flights tomorrow from Glasgow, but they involve 2 changes via heathrow and the states and cheapest is just under £1000 each
Hope your family are able to sort something out soon and they get over

Apparently Icelandair fly from Heathrow to Halifax and also Glasgow to Halifax (via Reykjavik).
Heathrow to Halifax flights are Mondays and Thursdays. well into October.
They also seem to fly into Toronto.
I tried to do a few searches on their website but I am finding it quite slow.

They are probably not there as who in reality would work knowing they are highly unlikely to acytually get paid given the staus of the company.
I truly hope everyone stranded gets home safely.

Zoom is offering nothing. My friend who was flying Zoom from Vancouver to Gatwick return next week has managed to get booked onto an Air Transat flight, but it was $1,700, not much less than BA. AT flights are filling fast. She has to wait and see if there is any refund from the credit card company for the Zoom charges, but not likely for a long time yet, while they sort the legalities.

I'm really sorry, she must be in a right state and you too, really hope something gets sorted, how about from Manchester or London??, know she would have to get there but would this give you more options?

www.continental.com
Out on Aug 29 (return Mon 8 Sep)
goes via EWR (New York Newark? with 5/6 hour layover)
$1842 CAD (on Canadian site)
£949 GBP (on UK site)
Strangely, if you can get from Belfast its "only" £532!
