You can't eat the scenery

The comment "you can't eat the scenery" was attributed to one of the first settlers in Bragg Creek, AB in the early 1800's ... it's been around a while.

Bragg Creeks was founded by two brothers who ran away from home in Nova Scotia and applied for a homestead in the area - they gave up and headed home, although they returned later when they were older and made a go of it.

I remember finding a site that attributed the comment to one of the brothers - more recently it looks like a descendant claimed that wasn't the case, they were just too young.

Anyway, it's a sentiment that's at least a 100 years old

A little off topic but a "bucket" in Edinburgh is the word they use for bin, So if your in Edinburgh and someone says "Oy! you got a bucket, likes?" they mean "I was just wondering if you had a bin anywhere, that would be great thanks?"

Chortle Chortle :D
