Yet more questions!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post, it was a great help.
We are adament now that we want to move over to Canada and are currently looking into things in a lot more detail, and would just like to ask anyone who can help with a few questions that we have rattling round. What would be the minimum amount of £'s you would need for a move to canada? What is it like buying a car in Canada, can you still get finance? How much roughly would a months groceries set us back? What are utility payments like? Can you recommend any estate agents for the lethridge area? What are schools like in that area? Are there any areas which seem to be popular with ex-pats? Any and all replys will be greatly appreciated. |

I came with $5k and nothing else, others come with several hundred k and all there furniture etc. I was able to lease straight away, with a large deposit, and less than stellar % rate. Something like that where the car is security financing should be possible, but you wont get the most favourable deal with no history. Months groceries will depend again on how many and to some extent where you are. Groceries for 2 adults 2 small kids for me are about 500+ a month, but could be more than that in any given month. Not many frills there either. Utilities again, skys the limit. Newer house will probably be more efficient and it depends how you heat too. I pay $200 monthly billing for oil, and about $130 for electricity. Estate agents are realtors here. mls.ca has a lot of properties listed you can window shop for. Steer clear of areas popular with expats...seriously, if its going to be a long term stay you need to integrate. Misery loves company. |
