Thats really quick...so pleased for you.

Did it cost you much more to get in via PNP ........we have looked at this for Nova Scotia but I seem to remember it would have been an extra CND$5000

travelmad Jan 4th 2004 11:28 pm

well done you!!!

well done you! That was quick? Just wondered if you could help me. I am in the process of gathering all my documents.

Could you please help with these three questions?

Where did you go to get all your photocopies certified and how much did it cost?

If I am the principle applicant do I have to prove my husbands work experince?

Also my husband did military service in Italy over 10 years ago do I need to put this down?

Many thanks and keep posting to see how you get on.

Why did you chose Canada out of interest?

Hi ACL
Thanks.

No extra cost with PNP to Saskatchewan and I would be surprised
if Nova Scotia, or any other province for that matter charged you anything as it is them that need your skills !

hi travelmad
and Thanks
1)at a notary pubic ( a type of solictor ) at a cost of £100.
Ring a local solictor and ask if they have one if not they will know of one.

2)Yes , provide as much information as you can so that they don't have to ask you for anything more which would slow things down

3) not sure , I have no experience of this.

4) the list is endless but some
speaking English
a far better standard of living
lots of work in my trade
and the list go's on

paperwork for partner too?

Hi Goatee

thanks for your replies. Can I just confirm that you provided lots of paperwork for your partner too?

Also on the NOC list can you provide different numbers to cover the work experience you have had?

Eg I was a bookeeper and now an accountant so there are two numbers which cover my expereince.

Are you selling property in the UK?
Thanks for your help

when do you go?

ACL Jan 5th 2004 1:31 am

I have read that the processing fee for Nova scotia Nominee Programme is CDN$5500 on

http://www.coxhanson.ca/pubs_solutions.asp?cmPageID=327

So envious of you !!!

Well done and when do you hope to move out there? How did you apply for PNP?? How long did it take to process and how long did you have to wait to hear whether you had got a place on their PNP programme? Did you have to go for an interview??

Sorry for all the questions but its hard to find many people who have got into Canada as provincial nominee!!

Hi ACL
1)late Feb / early March
2)phoned them in Saskatchewan and got the forms from the internet site.Filled in all forms including the federal ones and took them with us on our holiday back in July (see time line in pre;post) had informal interview in Sask to check thro' paper work.
3)see time line

any questions, don't hesitate to ask
Goatee

ps that $5000 is because they want to make money out of you.
I would always go it alone ie.don't use an immigration solicitor

Well - I should tell you that today in Regina its going to be 2 above - that is opposed to last Monday when, with the wind chill, it was something like 47 below!!!

However, by the time you get here I will have arranged for it to be spring already!!!

Hi Liz
We were hoping to arrive in the bad weather so that we could look at houses at their worst, still if you can arrange for it to be spring then thats fine with me.

by the way Liz what is "hammond road" far north of "Coronation Park" like as an area as we have been offered a rental there?

cheers
Goatee

Purley Jan 11th 2004 3:33 am

Its nice. I wouldn't mind living there. Its kind of a crescent. The houses on the north side of the street back onto the Ring Road, but that wouldnt bother me. There are fences.

On the east end of Hammond Crescent - I think it turns into Angus Road - you can drive through and get onto Albert Street. You could walk to Northgate Mall - its not very far, but Hammond Road itself is really quiet. Have you seen the house? If you tell me the address I can drive past and take a look at it.

If you are still going to be working in Emerald Park or White City - I forget which - Hammond Road would be quick access to the Ring Road which you would take to get to work.

Hi Liz

It's 131 Hammond road, and thanks very much.

I haven't got a job to go to as yet but I am back in contact with the company in white city, who knows ?some thing may come of it.

Looking for a welding and fabricating job if anybody reads this and knows of any openings.

anyway cheers Liz

Purley Jan 11th 2004 4:04 am

I thought you had a definite job for the spring.

I will ask around. What about Ipsco? Or isnt that the line of work you are in. My neighbour's son is a welder but he is not speaking to them! Wont go into it. I will ask her - maybe she knows something.

He works at Advance Engineered Products - 721-5678 or fax 721-5010.

Its a big place. They might have vacancies.

Hi Liz
Thanks very much.
Ipsco I believe is a metal pipe manufacturing company not metal Fabrications which is what I need.

by the way Liz my wife's mom is Kay Wolfsohn ,who I believe you have chatted to over the net from time to time.
well she is having a fit about us coming out to Canada,
I believe the prolem is that she won't fly so the only time she will see her grandson will be on the web cam and when and if we visit the UK.
bye for now

My husband has a butcher shop and he says that he knows Dave Exner, one of the bosses at Advance. he says he will mention you the next time he comes in. So you are a welder/fabricator - is that the job title??

I didn't realize you would be here in February. I thought it was later than that. I think I will have to revise my promise to have spring by then. I don't think I can manage it. I thought it was late March - we MIGHT have spring by late March but not Feb!!

Sorry about that.

geoffro Feb 27th 2004 6:48 pm

Hi Goatee

Just wondered if you could give me some info.

Who did you phone about PNP in Saskatchewan?
How much did the whole process cost you?

I am waiting to here about a truck driving job in Saskatchewan. Am going through an agency who will arrange visas etc. Luckily I don't have to pay them anything unless I take the job. But if this falls through will probably try PNP as PR takes so long.

Thank you.

Hi there.

Well done!! That was so very quick. They didn't ask you for any further information?

Can you tell me about shipping the dogs. I have a small Yorkie. Who are you flying with and where did you order the crates. Do you have to book far in advance and specifiy you are shipping the dogs. Also, I don't plan on coming back here, so do I have to do the whole Pet Passport scheme? Just wondering what is involved cost wise for the airfare and vet fees?

Thanks!

crazydaisy Feb 28th 2004 11:12 am

Hi Canadienne - Sorry to confuse but there's definitely NO need for pet passport to get to Canada. It would only be an insurance IN CASE there was a chance of returning - I say insurance because it can take around 7 months to process, which is not good news if you had to hurry back for whatever reason be it a loss of a job, bad news in the family, too much home sickness etc.etc. It's certainly NOT a requirement, so no worries ;)

hi geoffro

1)a chap called Kirk westgard

2) differcult to answer ,there was our trip to sask back in july
that came out at about £6000 for the month but it was also a holiday.
our medicals cost us about £600 for the 3 of us.
immigration cost £1400 in fees.
and then there was shipping the contents of our 3 bed home at
£4100
and $37.50 at calgary customs for the dogs
Air canada and westjet flights last week at £2500 for the 3 of us and two dogs

best of luck

Hi there

took the dogs with us on both air canada and westjet.
air canada cost £180 per crate as excess baggage.
dogs are common on westjet within canada and they were $40 each.
48hrs with air canada because they only take 6 dogs per flight,
I believe its the same or less on westjet.
you don't need pet passport but you will need a defra export certificate and your dog will need and check up with the vet and a micro chip, I sugest Tracer as its used world wide.
our vet back in the UK charged £60 to check the dogs and sign the export certificate.

hope this helps
