Anyway we got our Med request yesterday!
I'd had a really Crappy day at work and was stuck in a really boring meeting When I Sneakily looked at my mobile - only to find a text from hubby saying "it's here" !!!!

Very embarrassing as l screamed and then started Crying in front of everyone!! Lucikly I have very Understanding Collegues Who are now fluent In Canada Immigrationese

so Meds on Tuesday Can't Say I'm looking forward to it but the end result will be so worth it.

OK, we AORed (is that a word?) In Jan 2005. Husband, Ben who posts on here is in IT. l am a physics teacher at the moment In the UK but hate My job. well hate the education System here in general

We got an update letter in December, so judging by other peoples timelines - I took a huge gamble and handed in my notice to leave at the end of July. It looks like it has paid off!

We plan to move to Toronto, hopefully we might be thereby September!
I Might try teaching in Canada - I genuinely love my subject - I'm a rocket Scientist by training! But the education System here is a joke and I loathe Coaching for exams to massage Statistics rather than teaching!

I have heard that teaching is very different in Canada

Still Whatever happens I plan to take a few Months out to Settle in and enjoy my new Country

To Sum up at the Moment I have 2 Main moods - totally over. excited or scared beyond belief!

I have found this forum to be so friendly and So helpful-so keep posting folks!

Excited and scared - yep I remember that! There are lots of posts about teaching on here and it does seem to vary by province. I'm sure someone will provide a steer on here ( that rhymes - I'm a poet but didn't know it....):o

A rocket scientist??? for real?!!! :D

Wow, bet that's a good conversation piece at parties! Less gruesome than a brain surgeon anyway. ;)

Congratulations and welcome btw! (sorry it's Friday and I just got home! hence the silly mood) :p

I wonder if you could get into university education? .... my eldest is just finishing year 1 engineering at Calgary, and they really do start to get excited by their chosen subject at his age! There's nothing more soul-destroying, I'd think, than trying to teach youngsters who don't want to be there, to meet government imposed targets. :(

Yup, we're both fully qualified rocket scientists, which is why I took a career in programming and business analysis. Hey, wait a minute...
