Written Test In Interview at Singapore

Hi All,

Two of my friends went for interview in CHC Singapore they took 40 mins for both of them and same method, they asked them to go for English Wrttien test and for one guy Technical Written test.....they applied aug2001 and according to them background check havent done infact they are keeping orignal degree certifactes for verification and past experince letters they are more bothered about past not presentand they asked wht subjects were there in u r first year engineering who will remember 8 yrs back subjects.

Dont know why CHC Singapore suddnely changed the rules for Interview.

Anyone else have gone like this recenlty

Bye

There are no changes in any rules - interviewers always used some standard
tests to evaluate skills when documents proving education and/or experience
credentials were either questionable or from regions were it is easy to simply
purchase such. It is a standard procedure for many years.

Ya I agree With You Mr Miller but my Q was when a person applied and after 14months they are calling for interview and i was under impression that all these 14 months that they must be doing background cheking but i am sad to say it was not tht way and when i asked this Q to CHC Singapore they just smiled.

Again - background check was inconclusive or showed something what triggered
the test. Having documents and having skills are not the same thing
unfortunately...

Re: Written Test In Interview at Singapore

a reason could be, on evaluation of the paperwork submitted, it was felt that the documents were questionable, so an interview may have been a tool to see if the applicant actually does possess the skills they claim or not..

if the written test goes well, then it may be that the skills claimed are genuine, otherwise if it is felt in this interview that the skills of the applicant seem questionable, a more thorough check with the authorities who issued such credentials may be undertaken...

if you claim to be an electronics engineer for example, you should know how to calculate wavelength or how to wire a bunch of resistors and transistors in a circuit of a perticular type... to claim that you learnt this 8 years ago wont hold water... if you successfully completed the educational program, this is something you would know...
