Yep,

just need an all region DVD player.Seen some in Wal Mart this week for less than $30. No problem with cd's.

If you're worried about taking over loads of CDs, store them on your computer in itunes. My mac has the entire family CD collection on it and takes up 20cmx20cmx10cm. Shouldn't need half a container for that ;)

I would say definatly definatly take them, I sold mine and regret it, I bought the DVD Player mentioned by Zig, paid $29 and it plays all the DVD's I bought in England while there in May, a good investment.
