Hello Everyone,
I am wanting to work in Canada for six months, as part of my industry placement for my Hotel Management course in NZ.
What do I have to do to go about it, what kind of visa do I require, how long do I have to lodge the Visa before I know it is accepted etc.
Also does anyone know how long the maximum time a NZ Citzen can work in Canada.
Thank you for your time.
Bye

You should contact the Canadian High Commission in NZ for info. The Canadian
Consulate in Sydney, Australia can also help. Jim Humphries, former visa officer

Hi as a Scot with NZ passport who lived in Auckland and Wellington for 12 years but
who now lives in Quebec I hopefully can point you in the right direction
All immigration and work permit applications are handled by the consulate in Sydney.
All the consulate in Auckland and the High Commission in Wellington will do will tell
you to apply there. Ive included a few links that will give you an idea of the
process involved.
If you are planning to do your training in the winter (northern hemisphere) then
their is a programme that allows you to work during the vacation time in NZ. Its
called the SWAP programme. However I dont think it really applies if you wish to work
for your training.
