Working International Expo's - Exhibitor Frustration!!!
Hi guys
Am getting frustrated by the Working International Expo's that are coming up in a couple of weeks in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
We need to attend this event to meet with a rep from New Brunswick/attend a New Brunswick Information Session so we can submit and expression of interest (which you cannot do otherwise).
So it's REALLY important for us that New Brunswick are attending.
There is still no seminar timetable for the events on their website despite them starting in two weeks! The London show has Canada's East Coast listed on the exhibitors list (click the Canada flag) but when clicked says 'lots of presence in London and Dublin in October - referring to last years shows!!! Very professional.)
The Manchester and Edinburgh shows do not have Canada's East Coast in the list of exhibitors.
Myself and partner have emailed the event promoters several times. Communication is frustratingly slow - I assume they must organise this in their spare time around their daytime jobs or something?
One reply said New Brunswick are attending London and Manchester, and the second message said New Brunswick are attending all three.
But due to slow communication, lack of seminar timetables on their site, and the fact that Canada East Coast are not listed as exhibitors on any but the London show gives us no confidence at all.
It would be a godsend if we could attend the Manchester one as that's a 4 hour round trip rather than a 10 hour round trip to London (!!) but the Manchester one is a week after London, and so if we skip the London one we need to be 100% confident that New Brunswick will be there.
Bit of a nightmare really. Why can't the promoters just get their act together with hards facts that are a) existent on their website, and b) the same on both their website and their communication.
Has anyone else here had a bad experience with this group?
Does anyone know who's definitely attending, and if so how?

At the risk of stating the obvious, have you contacted New Brunswick immigration directly?
There are no information sessions listed on the website after February 20th, & none of them were in the UK.

We've tried! They don't return their emails.
Trying to call them. But yes, on their site their Information Sessions end on February 20th like you say, so wondering if the East Canada seminar will even count as a New Brunswick Information Session?
We managed to speak to New Brunswick about this in November after we missed the October show and they were very unhelpful to be honest.
The options for submitting an Expression of Interest are to have attended a New Brunswick Information Session, but none are ever officially listed for the UK it seems, or to have met with a representative of New Brunswick as an event.
The official New Brunswick Information Sessions are very well promoted from France, Portugal, Kiev etc - really easy to find loads of information on them. But when it comes to the UK - nothing!

According to the official NB PNP page you can submit an Expression Of Interest by submitting it to them
Taken from their website
The Express Entry New Brunswick Labour Market Stream is new to the NBPNP. Potential applicants are asked to complete an expression of interest and submit it to the NBPNP. Details are provided on the NBPNP Express Entry page. You must include your language test scores, Educational Credential Assessment result, and work experience in your expression of interest. The highest ranked candidates may be invited to apply to NBPNP Express Entry Labour Market Stream. After receiving provincial nominations, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will then invite top ranking candidates to apply for permanent residence. To find more answers to your questions, please consult our FAQs.

FL, without a job offer or NB experience, one of the requirements is attending an NB info session.

Yes, express entry. You need a job offer, OR to have attended a New Brunswick Information Sessions or to have met with an official rep at an event.
Anyone had any experience with this event promotion before?

However I'd be extremely wary/sceptical (until someone comes along to prove me wrong) about any expo which doesn't list its exhibitors/have a dedicated website/won't answer direct questions, etc, etc.
If NB isn't listing/publicising any UK dates for information sessions, I'd be inclined to assume they won't be there .
Other than calling NB & asking "will you be holding informations sessions at XYZ event", I don't see a way forward for the moment.

Hey Shirtback
Yes, this is the issue we are facing.
We JUST missed their event last october by two weeks, and have had to wait almost 6 months for this one to come up, during which we have taken IELTS and submitted our qualifications for conversion etc.
I called New Brunswick in early November and they confirmed that they had been at the event in October in London, but were very unhelpful advising how we could get information from them about upcoming information sessions.
There were then official NB Information Sessions held in France in December, so we decided we'd drive over and attend so at least we can meet with them that way. However, the attacks happened in France, the main Canada job expro was cancelled due to this, and we decided it safer to remain at home until things settled.
So we have a lot riding on New Brunswick being there. We've tried calling them again and have left a couple of messages asking for a call back but nothing. Will keep trying daily.
We've even asked the Canada High Comission in London if they know whether NB will be attending this event as the Comission in France is REALLY clued up and does lots of promotion and info sessions for NB. London replied that the event promoters have told them that NB will be attending.
If it wasn't a 10 hour round trip we'd pop down anyway, but if the promoters tell us they'll be there and we drive 5 hours down (and 5 hours back) and they're not there then there's going to be serious hell to pay.
There was an immigration event called Canada Live/Australia Live which we attended in Telford in November. 2 hours drive to find ONE Canada stand there (an immigration lawyer). We walked in, turned around walked out, got our money back and went home. Complete waste of 4 hours travel and £30+ in fuel. Hoping not to repeat that!!
It appears that Working International is the main exhibition in the UK for Canada Immigration and Jobs? Having done hundreds of Google searches I certainly can't find any others?
Really, really frustrating.
I guess we'll just have to keep trying NB direct every day and hope that we can speak to someone/someone replies to our answerphone messages and emails, and then do the 10 hour round trip if we hear nothing and go with our fingers crossed.

So personally I'd say go if you can confirm that NB will be there (they have been at shows I've worked at - although were never at Working In and didn't do any kind of official info session that I recall, but that was a few years ago) but certainly don't waste your time going thinking you'll get other info etc.
HTH.

Re: Working International Expo's - Exhibitor Frustration!!!
Pretty much what I was afraid of to be honest.
This comes up as being one of the only (if not THE only) Canada expo's in the UK doing Google searches.
It's proving really difficult as New Brunswick won't accept an expression of interest without either having attended a NB Information Session, or meeting an official rep at a promotional event. But they do very little to tell people what events or sessions they are hosting or attending.
Very, very frustrating.
We'll keep trying them daily by phone and hopefully we'll either get through one day or get a call back to our messages. Makes you wonder why you bother sometimes.
