Working in Canada
 

Hi all
I'm new to this forum. I am currently living in Florida on an E2 Visa. We own a pet store here. Because of the uncertainty about visa renewal, we are looking at other options. One of these is to move to and work in Canada. Could anyone give me some information about how to do this. I suppose it would be on a temporary work permit. Any help would be great. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Depending on what your qualifications were, it might or might not be feasible to come to Canada on a temporary work permit. Anyone who offered you a job that would qualify you to obtain a work permit would need to satisfy the Canadian government that no willing and able Canadian resident was available to fill the position.

However, since you're in the USA on an E2 visa, you may have the resources and credentials to qualify for permanent residence (PR) in Canada as a Business Immigrant. You also may qualify for one of the Provincial Nomination programs.

My husband applied for PR on his own as a Skilled Worker, and he got in just fine. My husband's brother came in as a Business Immigrant, and he appreciated the assistance of his immigration consultant, since his case was more complex than my husband's.
