Work for Criminal Solicitors?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone can help us, i'm a solicitor specialising in criminal law in Wales, and am seriously considering moving to Canada (possibly Alberta) in search of a better life for my family.

Does anyone know or have any experience of being in a similar position? Any advice is really appreciated.

Cheers!

I know of two solicitors from England that practised at the criminal bar and have retrained over here. One was ex-CPS and is doing the same type of work here in Calgary (and has requalified) and the other was a defence solicitor from England that is requalifying in BC and has a few months to go with her Articles before she is called. I am about to take my last (hopefully) exams in January following which I will Article in Calgary.

PM me if you would like further info - it is not an easy task but is not impossible
