WORD OF WARNING

Hi All
Just a word of warning, submitted a resume and covering letter to monsterjobs.ca last week explaining about us receiving our visas and our plans to land in April, the next day I started to get phone calls and emails from agencies in the UK interested in my c.v, went on to monsterjobs.uk site and found that all the info from the Canada site had been duplicated, after emailing them I found out that I can`t delete the UK stuff without losing the Canada info, and the only way round it was to block my current employer from viewing my details, who have no idea about my plans to emigrate.
hope this is of help to others.

Best Wishes

Peter Roulston.

Aren't you covered under the data protection act?

BTW you have your own name and details on a public access site. I googled Peter Roulston and southampton, your name came up as no 1 hit.

Re: WORD OF WARNING

point taken
but my employer is more likely to come across my details on a job site when looking for suitable candidates for a job than by random google searches.

Hi Peter,
Great info - will be useful for others who go down this route.

I think Fledermaus was trying to warn you that your personal details could be stolen, as you are giving your name and address out, and it is available on google. It might be better to keep either your real name or your location secret. That is why most of us use screen names!

Good luck with getting over to Canada,

This is a made up name,
my real name is Banana hammock fartknocker. LOL
I have always used this on most sites, do you think people can really get stuff from just a name and city, I`m ex directory, so I thought I would have been safe, thanks for the advise.

Regards

Peter. sorry Banana.

Dear Banana
You can never be too careful

Seriously, the electoral roll is online, I would be able to find your address. I could google and find out info about your family, probably....

Are you going to change your signature????? If you want to change your user name, ask one of the Mods then can do it, or at least find a Super Mod who can.
