why oh why
why is it so hard to move to canada.for 3 years we have been trying.first we went to meet Willis Brazolt in Manchester, only to be told that, since we have a handy caped son.we had two choices. we put him in to a home for 3 years and we go without him, then after the 3 years were up.we could apply for sponcering him.or we forget moving to canada.then we find another company who can help us,but we might not get into where we want to be and may have to move way further out.fingers crossed we get there in the end.roll on 2007.anyone ells had this much messing around ?
 |

 Not sure what you mean by "having to move further out" is this other company promising a job? Once you are a permanent resident you will be free to move about. |
Re: why oh why
If you're "handy caped" son is a dependent, and has no serious medical expenses, it may not be an issue?
I would go ask in "immigration" for a second or third opinion. My understanding is if the applicant is not going to infect anyone, and will only cost what the average canadian costs the health system (~$5000 a year?), then it might be doable. Putting him in a home for three years is utter rubbish advice as even if he never was going to go to canada, he would still have to be on your application and have a medical anyway as a dependent. Even getting a job might not help in the long term as the provincial nomination programs that get people with jobs here fairly quickly are still just a bit of a shortcut in the federal system, nothing more. PNP nominees still have to meet the usual federal medical requirements to be granted Permanent Residency (and AFAIK that includes all dependents). The answer to "why oh why" though is that entry to canada is not a right, Canada gets to pick and chose who it lets in, and is trying to prevent people coming here who will be a "burden" on those already here. Its not rocket science. A better question is why does it take so damned long, theres no good reason for that, and Im sure it must put off a lot of very "useful" candidates who decide to try somewhere else rather than put their life in hold for years. |
Re: why oh why
Just to echo what Iain said - if your son doesn't have a medical at the time of your application, I don't think he can *ever* be sponsored by you. Sounds like very dangerous information you've been given.
Try posting on the immigration forum , there are experts there who will know for certain. |
