They were made just down the road from where I used to live. I used to fix the factories vending machines. I recall it was very greasy underfoot. Especially on a wet day.

Sounds like this place I went to today in Ottawa for lunch.

Our Ottawa Indian Restaurant Menu - Brampton Foods

Low on ambience but high on taste.

Dbd would be pleased..they use the Brampton name for authenticity.

rather bizarrely I had an excellent curry over in Hawaii last week. The naan was poor and stodgy but the Chicken masala and the beef vindaloo were really great.

So you can't blame the atlantic.

Could it be that Canadians just don't like Indian cuisine that much.

I think that on the whole Canadians prefer more bland foods. The Indian restaurants cater for this, they have to or they'd close. I find the same problem around Ottawa. I order a vindaloo and its mild compared to what you get in the UK.

I guess there must be enough tourists in Hawaii to create a demand for pukka curry.

So the states isn't all bad after all.

Thanks for the heads up with this. I finally managed to get there today. I worked last night so I could take today off. We went to Eugenia Falls to check out the water volume and then went to Markdale to the Barrhead for lunch. Bloody place is closed for refurb so we slipped down to Orangeville. I had the chicken vindaloo, chicken biryani and a garlic naan. TCMB had the tikka masala. Quite frankly as good as any curry I could get in the UK.

There's a virtual pint on it's way to you.

Cheers.

Glad to hear it worked for you. The only complaint I have with the place is that it's getting too popular.

Sorry to hear that old boy. I'm afraid you're going to have to put up with the likes of me from now on LOL. It's a 200km round trip but worth every mouthful.

Note that on New Year's Eve they close at eight. We know that because we stood, unfed, while people who had tables offered us scraps.
