It may have been different for the few on here that are adamant about their own successes. But these are very different times, and Canadian society is far less welcoming than it was in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The ex Brits who have been lucky enough to have established themselves here already (at least 20 years) are happy enough, no doubt. However, anyone in Britain currently thinking of leaving the UK for Canada should do themselves a favour and stay put. There is absolutely no point in giving up what you have in the UK for what is available in Canada.

Ah, maybe it's you don't want anyone else to know about our utopia, you're trying to put people off and keep it less crowded, so it does not get spoiled.

If the people on this forum are anything to go buy a collective return would lower the average IQ in the UK.

Don't say that! Think off all the poor colonial types out here who haven't had the good fortune to have been born in Britain. If the Brits stop emigrating Canada will fall to pieces within a few years. You should be encouraging people to sacrifice their contented lives, secure in Britannia's bosom, to bring peace, stability and modern development to this wasteland. It can be yet another gift of Britain to the peoples of the world.

I'm convinced the only people that would benefit if the BE members returned would be the daily mail circulation department

For the time being. Until I am needed elsewhere; a bit like the littlest hobo.

Many thanks for your advice but I have this habit of liking to make up my own mind, about my own situtation.

but surely some helpful information such as this report will be useful when you do decide, or do you just want to hear success stories??

PS, can we have a link to the OECD report to read it ourselves.

PPS, do we dislike Wheatsheaf? what did I miss?

Unless you happen to like skiing, or poutine, or fell in love with a Canadian, or Canada for that matter.
