Who's flying from halifax 30th Oct..neither are we!
Just had a crappy phone call from Zoom to say our flight back to Glasgow from Halifax has been cancelled:curse:
They offered us the last flight back which is now the 26th but that would only give us a week over there. So we have opted to bring the flight out forward to the 16th which gives us 10 days.
Not too happy though as we now have to take our daughter out of school for longer. One good thing is that we haven't booked the accommodation or car rental so at least we haven't lost any money on that!
I know it's a bargain airline and you get what you pay for but it did cost us £1400!
What a complete pain in the arse

Its attitudes like this that allow companies to shirk there responsibilities, with the justification that its ony a few quid only got yourselves to blame if the airline cancells.blar blar blar.

Yes thanks for that Flogger. I know it may be cheaper than say Air Canada but by the time we have added on car rental, accommodation and spending money we probably won't have much change from £3000!
Definitely not a cheap holiday but ooooooooooooh so worth it

Why do people think that because you buy budget airline tickets it's OK if the flight gets cancelled?
You still buy a ticket, you expect compromises on service, queueing, meals, leg room etc, but you should anticipate that the plane will actually fly.
You get what you pay for - yes - but as you are paying for a flight, a flight is what you should get at a minimum.

I would say forking out £1400 for a service you are not getting would be alot of money.Especially at times like they are, when every pound spent means sacrifices elsewhere.
Sorry you don't agree.

It was the jumping down the throat of a longstanding and helpful member I objected to, not what constituted expensive from one person to another.
Believe me, those same sacrifices you mentioned I have done myself, not just financial.

It is, I agree, what I believe Mo meant was that it is not expensive compared to other flights and prices which have been quoted, in fact in comparison it is a bargain, even with Canadian Affair ones my inlaws used.

Of late, it has almost become fashionable to mock people who have chosen "budget" airlines to fly to Canada for whichever reason, and that they some what deserve what happens.
I'm sorry if you feel I have misinterpreted your friends position on this, unfortunately I don't think I have.

I didn't mean it was not a lot of money, for Pete's sake!
I meant it was not expensive compared to what "the big boys" like Air Canada and BA think they can charge for the same crappy service and rotten food and overbooked flights!
And whatever I meant, I do think that the last (bracketted) remark was completely unwarranted. You know nothing of my circumstances nor "the sacrifices" that I might have made to get here for myself and my family.
