Whizzing to Whitby
Hi all.
I have made a couple of posts, but we have not really 'introduced' ourselves as such so here goes. I am a Brit, my wife is a Canuck, we live in Germany and got married in Canada 3 years ago. We were on holiday in Jan this year in Toronto visiting friends & relatives and we ended up unexpectedly buying an off-plan house in Whitby. We spent the year so far not really getting our arses into gear with the VISA stuff and are finally within a few days of being able to send off the application. It actually does feel a bit exciting that it's nearly done. We will be doing a family class sponsorship through the London UK office. We have already started cancelling bills & services here, resigned from our current jobs and we will be moving to Canada on Dec 8th. We will be staying with a friend in Newmarket until our house is finished being built next summer. We are hoping that my PR will come through before the end of the year, allowing me to start work in January assuming I find a job by then :) All very nervewracking about the timing, but getting close to the day of sending off my PR application has made me feel less nervey about it. So much so that I felt a need to share our situation and introduce ourselves properly on the forum :) Hello Canada! Tom... |

We lived in Munich for a while, but don't really talk about that, very bad experience. OH also worked in Hamburg for 2 years while I stayed in the UK. |

Re: Whizzing to Whitby
Oh don't, I miss my car :-( Had to sell it last year
But I will be whizzing around. One of my specialties is organizing go-kart events so keep on the lookout in the GTA next year ;) Thanks for all the welcomes everyone. Oh and we just made our application payment online and have our IMM 5401. Definately on track for sending on the 18th. Looks like my sig is gonna be correct  |
Re: Whizzing to Whitby
I was in Whitby yesterday with my son, we had a mission to get on a train (he's not yet 5!) and get doughnuts. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
I only say that because I don't drive and it was nerve racking, being the only pedestrians on that short walk from the train station to that "food" complex. There must be nice places there, but one couldn't survive without a car without going crazy I fear. Sorry Whitby, I don't mean to offend, I was scared!! |
