where to start?
 

Me and Hubby are thinking of moving to canada in 2 years as we are tied down with the mortgage etc, and we need that time to tie up all loose ends here, both of us are in sales management and noticed loads of jobs in Canada for this proffession.

So my questions are how long does it take to get visas ?

Wheres the best place to stay we're 28 and 30 no kids still like city life but want a better quality of life.

I'vd lived in the middle east so I know the emotions we will go throw etc

Hi and welcome to the forum.

The question is not how long it takes to get the visa (but rather whether you qualify for one at all), and not where to live (you'll need to go wherever you can find work, so you may not get that much choice!!).

There may be plenty of jobs you've seen advertised, but there are also plenty of Canadians out of work at the moment, and for you to get a Temporary Work Permit, your potential employer would need to show that they have advertised the job across Canada and been unable to find a Canadian willing, or able, to do the job. So it may not be that easy!

Your best bet is to start your research by reading this forum lots and reading the Wiki (on blue bar at top of page). These two articles should help you to get started, best of luck. :)

I realised as soon as I posted, I read the Wiki page

I see the provincial programs etc seem a great way,

My hubby works for a multi national company in the uk who have businesses in Canada in fact new concepts where he could potentially help with as Canada doesnt seem to have this yet.

I'm going to exp09 Cananda in May and hopefully the enmigrate in edinburgh too

The PNP programmes are great if you don't qualify as a Skilled Worker, you'd need to get a job offer for most of them, so also have a good read of the Job Hunting section of the Wiki.

P.S. Don't expect too much from the Canada exhibitions, most people on here are fairly disappointed with them!
