Where to move to in Canada?

I think Canada might be a cool place to move to. I haven't applied for a visa yet, but I'm saving up very hard.

Does it get cold in the winter? I've heard Canadian houses are made of wood - are they all like log cabins and are they warm? If it gets cold in winter, do they still have a footie season?

Does all of Canada have electricity?

I've done searches on the forum and I've come up with a lot of placenames I haven't heard of - one that seems to get mentioned is Iqaluit - is that anywhere near Toronto?

Thanks in advance

Actaully, houses in Canada are called igloos and they are made out of ice. Canada does have a form of foot except you throw the ball instead of kicking it. We have to burn whale blubber in order to make electricity. In order to get to Iqaluit from Toronto, you just hop on the subway, transfer at the Moose Jaw station and head north.

Hope this helps!

No need for sarcasm.

I couldn't find Iqaluit on the transit map, I can't find Moose Jaw either.

There's way too much negativity round here.

Try the search facility at the top of the page.

This subject has been gone into in vast detail many times before.

And Moose Jaw is in Sasketchewan.

Hi Clueless

If the search feature doesn't come up with much for you, you'll see a few threads at the bottom of the page that might help you out. Also, if you just browse previous pages on the Canada forum, you'll probably run across the info you are looking for. You wouldn't know as you are new around here, but your thread question gets posted every few weeks.

In answer to a couple of your questions, as far as BC is concerned, most of our houses are built of wood. Eastern Canada, from what I understand, also has more brick residential buildings. Wish footie was available more here, but periodically you might be lucky enough to find coverage of a match you want to see!! .... and yeah... we have electricity!!

Cheers

Oggy

No colder than the welcome at a Yorkshire pub wearing a red rose.

Minus 20 to minus 40 degrees C.

Do you consider that cold???
