LOL being a snob has no bearing on where you lived, I mean i find you rather patronising and arrogant at times but i doubt that has anything to do with where you were brought up?

But il give you the fact that I am a little snobby I know what i like and what i dont like and its all a matter of taste. I am good enough to agree to disagree though.

I don't think finding a one bedroom apt in Toronto proper for $800/month is impossibly hard. Granted, you may have to wade through a lot of basements, but there are a fair number of apartments going for that. We live in Junction/High Park in a 1 bedroom with office and large deck for less than $800, inclusive of heat and hot water.

Ok il put it another way they are all places I would not want to move to if i was a new immigrant!
Isn't part of the problem with Jane and Finch is precisely that lots of immigrants end up there?

I tottally agree it isnt impossible and high park is a nice area and on the subway. you are right that you have to wade a little. but viewit.ca is a great place to visit cos they have pics and the other link i posted a lot of htem have virtual tours.

I dont think its the immigrants that are causing the crime their its the younger generation.

generally skilled immigrants who come here work very hard.

BTW, do you have any idea what time the stores close in TO on a Saturday? I mean the Eaton Centre and stuff like that. I get in at about five and have some time to kill.

Almost everything in Toronto, as far as shopping goes anyway, is closed by 6-7pm on Saturday. Only Vaughn Mills and Yorkdale malls are open later. I have never understood that since most people are off Saturday and that should be a prime shopping time. It sure is in the US.
