Seing as you are asking the same thing in numerous regional forums, maybe it would help if you narrowed it down to one part of the world. Otherwise is just looks like spam;) |
Re: We're to get stuff from
You can also find a reasonable selection of British products at Bulk Barn. I believe that there are franchises from coast to coast.

So where is he then? All these posts spread around the forums look like a set up for some advertising to me. |

The cost of shipping alone would be a major hurdle. Trolls might find it useful though ! |

I tend to think it would be cheaper to order from the UK for his friend in India than relying on Safeway or any Canadian supplier.

No home deliveries where I live though, and the thought of Eccles cakes slowly decomposing in a Purolator distribution centre for several days while I await my collection notification is enough to deter my genetic drive for overpriced imported crap. |

A new grocery store (petes.ca) just opened here in Wolfville with a 'Best of Britain' section. There's a good selection but prices are high so we wait for things to be discounted. Recent sales include Heinz beans for $1.25/can and various 230g Cadbury bars for $2.99.

That's good old Pete Luckett, a Nottingham native. The same as Pete's Frootique in Bedford and Spring Garden Rd in Halifax. Not too much Brit stuff that you can't get from his stores.
I just walked down to Pete's for a coffee and thought I'd share a few pics of their British section. |

The PG Tips isn't the same, go for English breakfast tea, or something like that, Loblaw's is okay. Depends on whereabouts in Canada you are as well. |

IGA do OXO, marmite, spam etc... Only reason i buy some euro stuff is to avoid the E numbers that seems to be in all north american food! We buy bread from the bakery, supermarket stuff lasts for months, in open air to me thats just not right!
Oh and its cheaper to fly to the uk and back tobuy bailys, than buy it here! |
