Where in Canada 🇨🇦

Re: Where in Canada 🇨🇦
You could live in Cornwall again and commute to Montreal (town on the St Lawrence).
In Ottawa, in general, the west and southern suburbs and towns are predominantly Enlish speaking, but suburbs and towns to the east are more francophone. Maybe have a look at Hawkesbury or villages around there? Still in ON but 1 hour to both Ottawa and Montreal.

You are correct about Ottawa. Casselman, Embrun, Vars, Rockland, Alfred, Plantagenet are quite french and the Tick, Osgoode, Richmond, Kanata, Stittsville, Carp etc are quite english speaking.

If/when you come over on a recce trip to Qc, give me a nudge. I’m one of the BE outliers here (don’t live in a city) & would be happy to talk about the pros/cons of Qc & where/where not to live.

Lots of people who work or go to university in Ottawa live across the river in Quebec ................ some lovely places there.

Walk on fare for the ferry on the main routes are not too bad. 17 or so I think each way now.
Its if you need to take a car or other vehicle. That is where they get you.
